R. Lamar Wheeler, CPA Deciding he could provide more attentive and personalized services to his clients as a smaller business, Lamar left his firm and founded Wheeler & Associates, CPAs in 1999. He serves as managing partner and continues to provide his clients with services in the areas of accounting, auditing, taxation and small business consulting. Lamar received his Associate of Arts Degree in 1969 from Florida Community College of Jacksonville and Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Jacksonville University in 1973. He earned the designation CPA in 1974. Lamar is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Public Accountants. Over the years, Lamar has volunteered his time to a variety of community organizations in Jacksonville, including: Sertoma Club Jacksonville, American Diabetes Association, United Methodist Conference, Boys and Girls Club of Northeast Florida, Inc. and Rotary Club of Mandarin. He currently serves as a board member with the Rotary Club of Mandarin (past president), MaliVai Washington Kids Foundation, Inc. (treasurer) and the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation, Inc. (treasurer). Lamar and his wife Judy have been married for 38 years and have raised 3 daughters (Kristin Bowers, Dr. Kathryn Wheeler and Kimberly Kelly). Lamar and Judy have been members of the Mandarin United Methodist Church since 1984, where they have served on various committees and as youth leaders. T. Alan White, CPA began working with Wheeler & Associates part-time in 2000 and joined the firm full-time as principal in 2003. He has more than 20 years of experience in the areas of small business and non-profit auditing, accounting and taxation. Alan earned his Associate of Arts Degree from Florida Community College of Jacksonville in 1977, Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of North Florida in 1979 and Masters in Business Administration from the University of North Florida in 1986. A CPA since 1981, Alan is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Over the years, his community involvement has included the North Florida Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society (past treasurer) and the Parent Teacher Organization for Julington Creek Elementary School.
In her personal time, Karen enjoys
crafts, gardening, travel and cooking.
Judy Wheeler Within the community, Judy has served with the Guardian Ad Litem program and as a youth Sunday School teacher at Mandarin United Methodist Church. She and Lamar have three daughters and two grandchildren.
